The Aftercare Company has been supplying the Body Art community with aftercare for tattoos and piercings since August 2000. We are one of the longest established aftercare companies in the world, and Britain’s longest serving company.
HISTORY
Shirley developed her aftercare products after going for her first tattoo and was advised to use Prep H, a haemorrhoid cream. Surprised at the recommended choice she did some research and discovered there was no-one in the UK making an aftercare specifically to care for tattooed skin. After having blended some oils to look after her own new tattoo she knew she could create a product that would surpass anything that would come on the market.
Working from home for the first two years, hand blending in her kitchen with the help of her partner James, Shirley built up her business from a cottage industry to an international trading company selling her products to tattoo studios and tattoo enthusiasts worldwide.
PRODUCTS
Tattoo Aftercare®, BPA Piercing Aftercare™ and Laser Aftercare® are 100% natural and contain no paraben preservatives, petroleum, lanolin, food colours, nut oils.
We use only the highest quality ingredients from nature’s abundant pharmacopeia and the global growth of our company is testament to the quality and success of her products.
All products are approved under the humane cosmetics standard, (not tested on animals). The Tattoo Aftercare® recipe won the first ever Golden Bunny award from the BUAV in 2005.
Tattoo Aftercare® was also used on the TV reality show London Ink.
WORKSHOP
Our company head office is based in Chester UK, and all products are made in Laurencekirk, Scotland. The location of the workshop at the edge of the Grampian Mountains is ideal for blending natural products.

Shirley was a finalist in the Women in Business category in Cheshire Business Awards 2005, and North West Woman in Business 2008. She was also nominated for Cheshire Woman of the year 2008 for professional Achievement. The Aftercare Company was selected as one of the top 100 companies to go forward to the 2010 Barclays Trading Places Awards.
The Scots are renowned worldwide for their skill in the art of blending and it was a Scot who created these all natural blended products.
