Tattoo Aftercare ® was developed in the UK in the spring of 2000 after its creator Shirley Jaffrey went for a Tattoo and was told to use a Haemorrhoid cream on her skin to aid healing.
Surprised at the recommended choice of treatment Shirley and her partner Jim started to look at what aftercare was available and discovered that there was a genuine need in the U.K. for a high quality natural product that would aid the skin following tattooing.
Armed with over 15 year experience, aromatherapy training and an excellent understanding on how natural products best suited the skin Shirley began working with a range of base oils and essential oils. Her aim was to find the ingredients best suited to the skins changing requirements during the healing process following Tattooing.
Samples were sent out to Tattoo Studios around the UK and from that came their first customers. Over that first few years working from home they built a U.K. customer base, turning back all monies made into the company so they could move into premises and manufacturing unit.
They now distribute from their head office in Chester, England, whilst the manufacturing is based in Scotland. The location of the workshop is ideal for the manufacture of natural products. The air is fresh and clean and they enjoy naturally pure soft water coming from the nearby loch, high in the hills of Glen Esk. The facility is registered and complies fully with the code of good manufacturing. They have high hygiene quality controls in place and all products are manufactured and packed within a controlled clean environment.
Tattoo Aftercare® is a high quality 100% natural, cruelty free, paraben free, chemical free product that is approved under the Humane Cosmetic standard.
They now supply Tattoo Studios direct and via distributors all over the U.K, Holland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, France, Iceland, Czech Republic, USA, Indonesia, Japan and this website retails to individual customers worldwide.
The feedback they had had over the years from satisfied customers has been brilliant. Not only are people using Tattoo Aftercare® for their tattoos but they have found relief from various skin complaints. Once a Tattoo had healed (and with a quick healing time they had plenty left) they were using Tattoo Aftercare® on Eczema, Psoriasis, dry skin, chapped lips, after waxing, sunburn, insect bites, stubble rash, nourishing moisturiser and more.
